Walk to La Caleta & home via the castle

A nice gentle evening walk with Weejan & Luke along the beach to La Caleta.

Stopped at Bar Gloria for some drinks with tapas & a couple of games of cards see earlier post..

Then took the inland road back to Salobreña by which time it was dark and the rock look stunning

Moon lit rock & castle
So we climbed the steps up to the castle ..

Ending up at the old favourite, La Botica for a late supper (see earlier post!)

Azahar Café for vino y tapas

No frills bar/cafe where the vino tinto is very drinkable!

And great tapas!

Copa de vino (y tapas) número dos

Copa de vino (y tapas) número tres

I don’t normally like Parma ham – stye ham but this was lovely!

Total cost ………. 9€

I love it here!

Hotel Victoria

Observe Gill by the cross in the background!

A nice family run hotel on C/Mediterrano where we had breakfast on 6 May 2018. They had made a cross for the Festival of the Crosses.

Bar Pesetas

4 May 2018 pub crawl

This is the third bar in our pub crawl.  the Bubble Bim and Bomic bar (Ruth!).  Last time in November we sat at the bar but this time we sat upstairs on the covered terrace.  The food was excellent.

Taberna Alhaja

4 May 2018 pub crawl

A short walk down the steps from Plaza Ayuntiamento takes you to this bar (well signposted).  Last time in November we sat outside but inside this time.  Very cosy and nice.  No Van Morrison playing at all!

Taken 3 May 2018

Restaurante La Botica

The start of the pub crawl.  In Plaza Ayuntiamento near the museum, high up on the rock in the old town.  Had Rioja and tapas – food looked good, but had more bars to visit!

El Tapeo Cafe

In Avenida del Mediterraneo, on the way down to the beach, on the right. This became our firm favorite for breakfast along side the many workmen of Salobrena.  Very good value (helped by getting bill wrong at times we suspect), eg four coffees and two pan (jam, tomato/ham) just 5 Euro.

Bar Antano – 2 May 2018

Calle Diaz Del Moral

Had tapas here for supper the day we arraved and as usual it came free with the Rioja and was very good (especially the enslata mixta). Not many places open cos out of season but this place was buzzing.
