No frills bar/cafe where the vino tinto is very drinkable!

And great tapas!

Copa de vino (y tapas) número tres

I don’t normally like Parma ham – stye ham but this was lovely!

So, you’ve arrived at 10c Calle Miraflores and need to get into the apartment and get things in order for your stay. We’ve created some videos to assist you. Here is a link to the guided walk:
Walking Guide Almuñécar Welcome Walk

4 May we went on a circular walk around Almunecar taking us past the archaeological remains of the old Sexi Roman viaduct, into the botanical gardens, to the beach and then along the coastal road back inland to the start near the market.
On 4 May we went to the Friday market in Almenucar – a very Spanish affair selling a mixture of cheap and cheerful with locally produced more interesing stuff (mainly clothing). Apparently on Sundays they have a flea market (watch out for future posts on this!)

Sierra Nevada. On 7 May we took a spin up in to the mountains to Sierra Nevada where although the skiing season had all but ended, there was still snow and even a skier!
A pleasant two and a half hour walk from Salobrena via el campo and then along the beach. We passed a nice beach area with parking – Playas del Delta del Guadalfeo and eventually past a fine brutalist church.

This time being a Sunday and the Festival of Crosses, La Katena was crammed and hectic, thus a long wait and average food. Much better last time.

A nice family run hotel on C/Mediterrano where we had breakfast on 6 May 2018. They had made a cross for the Festival of the Crosses.

Day trip to Nerja. Car parking available up near the Parador at Parking Carabeo in C/Prol. Hernando de Carabeo above Play Burriana where there are loads of beachfront cafes for grilled sardines eg Restaurante Merendero Moreno and also the world’s best icecream shop near by. Had supper at Playa Y Sol which was overpriced, full of Brits and nothing special.
